Allison’s work has always been on the leading edge of hospitality, wellness, retail, and community based business. She started her career in merchandising for Levi Strauss during the company’s heyday in the 90’s. She worked for the iconic Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur and created a state-of-the-art spa and self-care centered program at California Pacific Medical Center for patients of the medical center. For five years, Allison was a partner in a multi-unit yoga business that was a forerunner to the yoga lifestyle movement of the 2000’s and was later purchased by Yogaworks.

Allison has held many leadership roles in community centered businesses — most recently at The Hivery, a woman’s coworking space and inspiration lab — and loves to combine her passion for creativity, hospitality, programming, and events with her operations and sales acumen. She has been written up in the Marin Independent Journal, Marin Magazine and Self Magazine.

During the pandemic she re-branded her consulting and coaching business, AB Consulting, and created an 8-week course called Boost Your Life – Boost Your Business for entrepreneurs and thought leaders that are in start-up or need a reset.

When she isn’t working, you can find her foraging and arranging flowers, cooking nourishing meals, or on the bleachers watching her son play football.

Allison has also been hard at work creating — 11Locust —a new lifestyle brand celebrating the rituals of home.

Empowerment

Own Words

I come from a long line of empowered females. My grandmother was one of the original Ninety-Niners—the first women pilots with Amelia Earhart.

My father was a larger-than-life visionary and a self-made man. He started grooming me from an early age by saying, “you will run my company some day.” He is no longer living and his company has since sold, but he instilled in me the idea that I would and could, as a woman, be the architect of my own dream. This was a beautiful gift of empowerment that endures to this day and has given me a “can do” lens on the world.

Wellness

I created a state of the art, spa/self-care program at California Pacific Medical Center for the Institute for Health & Healing, a world-wide leader in Integrative Medicine.

I was a partner/owner of a multi-unit yoga business in the 2000’s that laid the foundation for the dominant “yoga lifestyle” trend we have in full bloom today.

Retail

Growing up, my favorite childhood pastime was playing store. Ringing my pretend cash register or a simple calculator gave me so much satisfaction—it still does!

The foundation of my business training was over a five-year period in the 90’s at Levi Strauss & Co. I worked in all areas of merchandising, from Women’s to Kids and from Tops to Bottoms. I learned all aspects of bringing a product to market, from samples to production, from sell-in to sell–through.

Hospitality

I worked for the iconic Post Ranch Inn, in Big Sur, during the emergence of the Spa trend in the 90’s. They were a hotel that revolutionized the guest experience and continue to be at the top of every “best hotels in the world” list, to this day.

Culture

I was raised in Marin County, CA. I started traveling and living abroad at a very young age. I lived in Europe and Asia during my formative years, which gave me a deep appreciation for culture and our growing global community.

Growth & Healing

I began reading self-development books at the age of thirteen, including the influential The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell.

I have always been on the hot pursuit of life’s meaning and have worked with wise mentors to create my best life. I have a passion for sharing the pearls of wisdom I have received along the road of life.

Beauty

Beauty has always been my medicine, the beauty created by masters, dignitaries, strangers, vagabonds, and even the beauty that I create. I love it all.

Nature

I fell in love with Nature during a childhood spent in gardens, orchards, mountains, and deserts. Flowers, trees, and the bounty of the Earth have always been a comfort to me.

I studied the “tree huggers” in India in my early 20’s. They were more formally called the Chipko movement, a post Ghandian, non-violent movement. Women in the Chipko movement would literally hug the trees as an act of peaceful protest and to protect them from logging companies.

If you are nowhere else duplicated on the planet, then I am here to make damn sure you are bringing yourself fully to the table and garnering your best creativity and resources to meet this important moment in your life and business.

I want to remind you that your back is never against the wall, that you always have way more options than fear will let you believe and every day is a test. Are we going to believe the self-limiting voices and settle? Or are we going to break down those false barriers and really go for what has heart and meaning for us?
